I do some original production stuff but I'm more partial to dj'ing,chopping,blending, etc. I'm just lazy and need to hone my skills in producing

I wish but no, I just lack the time/talent to do it

its easy enough to download the software and spend some time messing around/reading articles or books. thats how i got into it back in hs

About three years ago I used to do mashups/mixtapes of underground/mainstream rappers. The game is too big now to even compete.

doesn't mean it can't be a fun hobby. I always tell people that if you're into music for money, you're in it for the wrong reason
