Seeking Suggest : Good Wireless router
friends,
Im transitioning from ADSL2+ type Internet & to Fiber based network.
This made my Linksys WAG200G home gateway dumb & unusable, as i cant even use that as a switch to access Internet from multiple devices due to the authentication type of new ISP (web based, login which can be automated using scripts/wget). Using the linksys as switch wont let me use more then 1 device, as single IP address/ dynamically assigned by ISP.
Hence i need to get myself a new router. please suggest me a decent budget router.
i am looking for a router with decent range.
I was getting 2-Mbps transfer speed in WAG200G while transferring files between devices, wil prefer device which may be able to give more then this transfer rate.
how is Belkin Basic Wireless N150 Router (F7D1301zb) ? no review found online :(
Thanks

The router is one thing, if you're looking for great connection and transfer speeds between computers, you'll also have to pair them with wireless adapters.
In my home I use WRT610N, and if I'm looking for a fast connection on the laptops, I'll plug in a WUSB600N, I can get 17-18 MB/s (let's say 140 Mbps) during file transfer over Win 7 implementation over Samba. That's my personal experience, so stick with MIMO on both sides.

thats true, but i am looking a cost effective device at this moment :) as chances are there that i might go back to old isp. Kind of beta testing the fiber network.

As long as you know, what's a good price point for you anyway, and where do you do your online shopping?
Re: Seeking Suggest : Good Wireless router
if you dont care about the gigabit ethernet ports, these look good value id probably lean more towards the trendnet. they all support dd-wrt.
TRENDnet TEW-652BRP
Asus RT-N12
Linsys E1000
- small net builder - router charts

For home use i have this one Asus Rt-n16
A little bir more expensive but it comes with gigabit ports. Only cons is lack of proper instructions for use.

not online, mostly from local retailers. if something not avilable then ebay / newegg.
btw i have kinda finalized netgear WNR2000, and it supports dd-wrt too.
