Drug addicts like Amy Winehouse are an embarrassment the whole music industry, with this most disastrous concert tour since Whitney Houston's last year. And its not like this should come as any surprise -- Winehouse was drugged-out throughout her last tour a few years ago.

Live shows are very expensive these days, especially in poor countries like Serbia, where it seems not unlikely for a loyal fan to have to cough up a week's wages (or more) for a decent seat. What should a person do at a concert when the featured singer shows up too drunk and/or drugged-out to sing -- or even stand up straight without stumbling and falling over? To loyal fans, it means shouting out encouragement like "come on, you can do it!" -- as well as the (missing) lyrics themselves.
Since record labels now profit immensely from these live shows, is it any wonder that we're seeing more and more of these wrecks in the era of the '360' contract? As it seems there are no refunds given due to barely-conscious performers, the accountants can no doubt consider it a resounding success.
