This fishy website is the only place i can find a file, can it be trusted? (NitroDown

They are the only place I can find on the internet that has a specific file that I'm looking for (which is an ebook called Environmental Issues for Architecture).
Usenet.nl also might have a copy but I'm not sure I'm comfortable using a usenet, its just really daunting when I understand none of the terminology and have to have new programs etc.
Does it seem like a terrible idea to pay them 5 bucks for a week trial to download that file?

Its the top on in that list. It just seems really fishy, thanks.

Looks like a typical honeypot/spam website to me, where they take your google queries and pretend they have what you're after in order to get you to subscribe. I wouldn't touch that.

Exactly. There are many scam sites like this one. They ask for money before you can download and then redirect you to bogus/fake files or sharecash links.
Usenet.nl is also a scam, from what I've read here.

Yes, these sites claiming to have things not found elsewhere, trying to get money out of you, are 99% scams and finding the last 1% is hard. I tried one of those once for a movie, where you had to buy the password to unpack the .uharc (I think it was) file. I spent somewhere between 8 and 10 hours learning to crack the password on such files and the result was the shittiest cam I have ever seen. So what was advertised as a DVD-screener with 192Kbps AC3, was really Video quality 2 and Audio 4. So now I tend to stay away from those.

Thanks guys, I assumed the worst. Looks like I will be trying to find it somewhere else, or buying it yikes.

I've tested usenet.nl and I've been very satisfied with the service they are offering. I never experienced it as scam.... of course, one should read the General Terms and Conditions before signing in... but one should always do this....

I recall reading posts here (by zot and other guys who know their stuff) where Usenet.nl was singled out as a scam, hence the warning.
Anyway, if the file isn't a fake and has been posted within a certain timeframe, you can use Binload or XS Usenet to download it. It's not that hard - I only know the basics and have been faring quite well.

So true, yet so rarely done.
