New Blu-Ray player
So I was going to trade in both my old PS3s and all my software, plus a 3ds I had lying about the house for a shiny new PS4. Then I read the reviews and paused. Apparently the PS4 doesn't even play blu rays out of the box. And when you update the firmware it will play some blu rays (not all) and it doesn't play 3d. My old, out of date PS3s not only play my entire blu ray collection, but they also play blu ray 3d!
Nice own goal Sony. :(

Re: New Blu-Ray player
I've read to the xbox one doesn't work as a media extender for WMC but the 360 does. Way to take a step back with the both of them.

Re: New Blu-Ray player
Unless you're using 3D now, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure it will be supported soon enough, Sony owning a movie company will see to that.
As for the xbox one not being a media extender, I'm okay with that. You can get far better options for less then the price of an extra gamepad.

Re: New Blu-Ray player
You can use PS3MediaServer to serve up content to your ps3. ps4 does not play DLNA however. They say they are looking into it.

Re: New Blu-Ray player
It's wise to wait on both consoles until there's a good number of must-have games out there for you. That'll give time for prices to possibly drop and improvements in the software on the system.

Re: New Blu-Ray player
I would be surprised if Sony don't sort this out with some future FW update, else they will lose sales

Re: New Blu-Ray player
How can this be? Did't they create the technology?
