Anyone using an AC Router; ASUS AC68U or Netgear Nighthawk R7000

Looking for some feedback on streaming performance of either of these routers.

My nighthawk streamed fine... For about 3 weeks. It would hang about once per hour, and tech support wanted me to wait a week (putting me outside the return window) to see if the new firmware fixed the problem. Since I didn't trust the hardware or the support, I returned it.

Both are fine choices, but I can state for the Asus that these devices enjoy excellent custom firmware support: AsusWRT-Merlin is pretty fantastic.

If you can wait with your router purchase till later this year, I'd hold off on one of these first generation devices and wait for a router with a "second wave" chipset - like the upcoming RT-AC87U.
