Why limit yourself so severely? Cheap cloud vm with Radarr/Sonarr and SABnzbd would be a world of difference

It runs a Linux kernel, but that's where the similarities end. You can't take a program compiled for a "normal" Linux and run it on Android because even the packaging and executable format are different. It has to be ported, adapted and compiled specifically for the platform.Quote:

Again Anon i am not that tech savvy , but really thinking about it, even if there is a program that you can download to a Cell Phone or Pad, how much HDD space do you have to store?? Are you going to download something and keep deleting after you watch it??
If you have a newer phone or tablet, i can say you may have good speeds for downloading but that is as far as it goes......
Yes, I agree that it would be situational usage at best... I mean, there are phones with 256 and even 512 GB of internal storage now, but they're expensive as fuck (as are SD cards of the same capacities). But maybe those who have TVs and set-top boxes that run Android and support external storage would find a use for this.
I would think that most Smart Tv's and streaming boxes again run Linux and i know you can Torrent shit to them easy, but Usenet??Quote:

Really if you have Internet at home and you have really a few bucks extra you can buy a half decent laptop pretty cheap and an external plug in drive to make downloading easier. Add Plex or UMS, you got a Media Server, or just plug the HDD right into the TV and done.. Or even better if you have unlimited data cell plan you can tether as well, it is slow as fuck after you go through the Cell providers max data but again another way to download, my kid tried tethering before he got full internet installed, and he said it was brutal, slow and really couldn't stream anything good........

The Raspberry Pi is different. It runs a "real" Linux with a package manager and several distros available. Some models can even run Windows 10 (IoT Core). In other words, it was specifically designed for this sort of tinkering :happy:Quote:
