I need to find a site that reviews what home dvd players play and what types of cd's and software and stuff that it will except. I have a RCA RC-5215p (sucks ass) and a Polaiod DVP-500 and I need to find out how I would go about making a VCD that would play on them. Tired of wasting time and money on making non-working vcd's.
Thanks

agreed. as far as cheap players go, Apex is great for playing VCD/SVCD on just about every brand of CD-R, and the picture quality is pretty good compared to most other bargain brands.
if you're willing to go a little higher, i'd recommend the LiteOn LVD-2001 for about $150, which plays DVD/VCD/SVCD, as well as DivX/XviD and MPEG files (ones that don't conform to VCD standards) straight off of data CD-R/DVD-R/DVD+R discs.
