probably because they dont want to chat - i know i dont if i use KL.
In Kazaa its been heard of people getting spam and stuff through the message feature. I leave it on though as I sometimes use it to ask people wether the file I'm downloading is correctly named / working. I've also been messaged before by people warning me of dud files which is useful especially with large files.
I keep it switched on, because sometimes people ask me questions about my files, such as have I got any more mp3s in this style, etc.
I have never been sent anything bad through the instant messenging service.
Yeah I also turn on the chat, only if I need to ask about the file I download. But when the chat option is off, it doesn't mean that the user doesn't share anything. You know, no one wants to be annoyed by spam messages or the riaa bots who send you messages of copyright infringement and so far.. That's why most people turn off the chat, and also many users are not available. They just leave their pc downloading and are not at home.. that's also one of the reasons why people turn off chat. ;)
It's pretty annoying. Better to concentrate in the forum, you'll get some credits to count a post.Quote:

i turn it off long ago
too many stupid questions, constance q's if things worked and people without codec bitching because they don't have the correct codec's
1- riaa spam
2- porn spam
3- bitching about leeching from people that never heard about the privacy patch
4- messages for KazaaLiteUser get delivered to one of the thousands of KazaaLiteUsers with that name, and never the intended one.
5- stupid questions about files I never heard of, as a result of 4-.
6- the annoying popups when K++ is running in the background.
That is sad that ppl turn of this Messenger Service :( cause Kazaa is for sharing and I also have had some nice discussions going on on Kazaa Lite K++ ;)Quote:

The one I remember most was with _Michelle_ from France ;)
I have experienced that too when I was a noob. Too many irrelevant questions that I could not decipher.
