Using IPFS for Piracy

I was just curios if anyone has ever tried using IPFS to download movies or share files. It seems to be faster then other methods, and a lot easier and simpler. Also it would be possible to just link a CID and everyone would be able to host and share the file. From what I understood, no one can know who uploaded the file first, but they could find out if you have it on your node. I think a VPN would solve all of these issues anyway.

If anyone knows of a place where they list CID's for files, LMK.
