windows XP?
if so, go to system properties > advanced > startup & recovery settings > system failure > uncheck "automatically restart".
then go check the event viewer (sys tools > admin tools) to see if anything was logged.

If you have XP then use system restore to go back to a time when your pc was working fine.
It could be some driver error, i had probs like this before, but didnt have the time to investigate properly so restored the system instead.
By the way if you have downloaded some software recently (since restore point) you should zip them up, otherwise windows will remove it, as it deletes any .exe stored since restore point, just in case its a virus.

do you have an event ID ?

Sounds like the W32.Blaster.Worm
I will look further.

no.
you'll get a system message if it's blaster.
but I would make sure there' not any updates or new virus defs...
I couldn't really find anything on the prob.
does it usually occur when you're using a specific program or doing the same thing?
