I'm looking to buy a new DVD player for my dad for Christmas. I've had my eye on the Philips DVD 724. Know anything about that one? I can get it for about $70 on the net, and it's got great reviews on dvdrhelp.com.
Any suggestions/comments?

but sry...cant help ya cuz i dont use/have a dvd player... but from what i can see that one looks nice
Looks like no-one has any experience of that one.
If you are going to play mp3 discs, long filename support is essential, that one doesn't support it.
This one has a few more features including long filenames, and it's in the same price range. My brother has one and the quality seems excellent.
did you read all the complaints ? its up to you but apex & rowia play every thing and are less than 100.00 us
