if its a Lucasarts adventure game you can use ScummVM
if you're just having sound problems try VDMSound
if neither works DOSBox is fairly good - theres a guide here: http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=2502
even simpler than that you can just drag the .exe of the game you want on to the DOSBox .exe
