My Latency Is Too High In Cs

My latency is too high in CS, its 150-200 and i just so laggy

Does any 1 know how can i lower it down. Im so tired of lag!! :01:

scan your pc for spy-ware/ ad-ware.

also play in servers close to your area

and get off that 56k modem/aol combo. :P

seriously though, if your having latency issues it might be worth checking that nothing else is running in the background. Kazaa... Irc... IE stuck on a page with timed ad rotations, etc...
Although if its only affecting CS, then it might just be a problem with cs itself. If youve got time, download enemy territory (Its a free Cs-like game based on RTCW) and see what pings you can get on that. :)

well if your on broadband id say shut everything using bandwidth

then try these settings these have worked fro me and i get pings of 20 on some servers


rate 9999
cl_cmdrate 28
cl_updaterate 23
cl_allowupload 1
cl_download 0
cl_download _ingame 0
fps_max 100
fps_modem 100



type them one by one in your c-s console


and thank me later
