It could be that, if the user were only to appear once. However, 9 times out of 10, the users pop up quite a lot with little tiny snippets of the file.

The user probably is offline, but KL++ re-attempts that source in the hopes the user is back online. It fails quickly perhaps BECAUSE you have a fast connection and has nothing to do with how fast the other end is... unless the other end is crashing alot.
