Australians warned: Brace yourselves
Australians should brace themselves for a big year of computer terrorism.
"Australian Computer Emergency Response Team senior security analyst Jamie Gillespie said Australian computer users should be prepared for an increased number of viruses this year," says a report in The Courier-Mail here.
Virus writers and large-scale spammers are joining forces, creating sophisticated viruses that used infected computers to send massive amounts of spam, and more partnerships are likely, says the story, quoting Gillespie as saying:
"It's giving virus writers another motivation to write viruses - a financial motivation."
