Okay, I just installed a few recommended updates from microsofts site. Before i did this my comp loaded right up to my account, as it is the only account on there. Now after the updates, it loads up to a log-on screen so i have to choose the account, and there is still only 1, so this step is absolutely pointless. Any settings i can change to make my comp load up directly to my account (the admin account) without going back and uninstalling the updates?
I looked around but nothin is jumpin out at me
Thanks
Kai
oh and if this is not supposed to be in softwareworld, mods please move it
wasn't sure if it was or not.

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> "Change the way users log on and off" -> Un-click: Use Welcome Screen

no dice NightStalker...
that just makes it come up with a window where i have to type in my password anyway, just doesnt give me the menu where i can just click a pic, so it's just harder
but thanks for trying
anyone else?

Thanks peatmoss!
I read through it and did what it said, and was under the impression that it had worked, untill it fully logged on to my account, yet all my progs were uninstalled, and everything was gone, ie favorites, temp files, progs, etc, which wasn't relaly what i was looking for
not sure if this was supposed to happen or not, but it did
however i reversed it and all my stuff came back :)
Thanks though, it's appreciated

asp.net
no idea lol
also, it has not always been there as i recall
i know for a fact that i did not create it, thats for sure, and also i am the only one who uses this PC
I am connected from a router from another comp, but have my own printer (not shared) and am not sharing and docs either

the asp.net account is created when you install the .net framework. since that account is now on your machine, it automatically forces you to the welcome screen at startup. it didnt do this before because you only had one account on the machine. if you do not plan to log onto your machine remotley, you can safely delete the asp.net account and everything should return to normal.
