Hi,
I have been having a cleanout and have found an index.dat file
in a hidden folder within internet temp files called "contents IE5"
This file wont delete or edit even in safe mode , it says it is been used
and to exit the program using it , what might be using it ? .
Or if you open it in notepad and edit it then hit save it says it cant
find its position and if you try to navagate to it its not there ?
This file is now 2MB in size and growing and it holds a list of every
Web site I have ever visited.
Please someone how do I either get rid of it or empty it ?

index.dat is a windows file and need to be in that folder, but it should be about 30 to 40 kb, cant realy tell you why it would be so big

um i just remembered window washer 5 cleans locked dat files too
