2.get tweakui and press "repair icons"

have u tried rebooting???? cause when explorer crashes on my comp, until i reboot, icons start changing randomly (diffrent illustrator icos start looking like iso's, jpg like pdf, ect)

Delete your icon cache.

Download TweakUI from Microsoft's website (:ph34r:) and rebuild the icon cache. :)
