ok i downloaded some video files and i cant play them , the file extension is .ogm , which ive never heard of in my life , so ive been searching and i cant seem to find anything , most of the sites are dead , so anybody that can help me out , do i need some special codec or something , i just want to know how to play them and if possible a program to convert them.

why convert them, they usually have multiple sub formats or dubs.
ie english subs / no subs
jap / eng dubs

well would i be able to burn to dvd and watch em in my dvd player?
or do i have to convert them?

OGM - Ogg media. It's a video format that allows multiple/switchable audio/subtitle streams. The video still uses XviD codec but the audio is ogg vorbis. However, you need to use a player that allows you to select audio/subtitle streams such as MediaPlayerClassic. You can play it with WMP but you cannot select different audio/subtitles; WMP defaults to the 1st audio stream. WMP-9 does support multiple streams.
