When i click on the links to download something from a ircspy or packetnews my internet explorer crashes it comes up with this message
"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I've used these sites before and its worked fine.

It's probably because you have an older version of IE. Just update to IE6SP1 and everything should be fine. When I had IE5, and when I click on the pack, it would crash every once in a while. When I updated to IE6, I've never had any crashes.
