Help Needed Asap ! Please

i recently downloaded security task manager and when i was going through it all i clicked on kazza ....when i looked at the file data there was all this really awfull stuff listed ie child porn ect ect ect ...i mean there was soooooooo much listed ...i felt sick looking at it all on this list !!!!!!!! please help what the hell does it mean !!!!

im shitting myself as i dont understand how and why all that crap is listed in the file data of the programme .

im really new to all this so please help me out as im worrying myself sick something has been downloaded on my system without me knowing abt it

First if you are worried delete it all. Though it doesn't sound like you have images or anything too dodgy.

Then find out if anyone else has been surfing on your comp.

Kazaa has some bad stuff on there viruses etc as well as good. You will just need to be careful and delete anything suspicious.


Or try a different program. The nature of p2p is that things will occasionally pop up. Just be aware of the unscrupulous people in the world and avoid their stuff.


Most people share good stuff so its worth sifting through a little.

everything that i have downloaded in my shared folder is ok so i know theres nothing in that ...i was worried things could have been done without my knowing but im the only one to use my pc soo........ anyway thankyou ill take your advice

yeah that happens to me too.......well not exactly the same but sometimes (rarely) when you try to download something e.g. the latest episode of friends *ehm* some other sick CP stuff come out of it, sick enough to turn your stomach. Isnt there anyway child porn can be stopped on kazaa? or anywhere you can report it together with the ID of the bastard you downloaded it from?

jo68 if you suspect anyone is downloding anything on to your system without you being aware run your anti-virus software too and any spyware removal tools you might have, adaware is the best for that trick, if you have a trojan or other hijack worm in your system whoever planted it can virtually do anything you can.

I've heard about an organisation called the Internet Watch Foundation, who try to monitor and control any dangerous/sick/unlawful content on the internet, so I suppose you could ask them for advice if you know the person who did it.

There are 2 ways you can go on this Jo, if you wish to get active.

You can be pro-active and attack the sharer through certain groups... however this in itself is illegal, and i wouldnt advice it if your unsure of your IT skills.

Or you can report it.


For you, i would advise The Internet Watch Foundation which is based in the UK, and so works with our own police/ISP's.

However, if you take the police route, then bear in mind that most files you probably have in your shared folder are probably covered by copyright, and hence you've probably been breaking the Law yourself.

The Child Pornography division overall, probably wont give a fuck about that...they are interested in Child Porn, and will turn a blind eye....probably. However, there could be some young copper just out of Hendon that will try and "collar" you too...
