Dvd+-rw Doesnt Recognize Cdrw

for some reason my DVD burner doesnt recognize my CD RW's (in nero)....... now im thinking, could this maybe be because im using a 40pin IDE cable?

have you tried updating nero to the newest
after that see if there is a firmwear upgread for your burner

could be incompatible media (in other words, the cd-rw discs aren't compatible with your dvd drive)
