Black Screen Of Death

:helpsmile: A friend of mine loaned me a .avi file to view. I am using Windows Media Player v9.0. When the file starts only the DIVx symbol is visable then it disappears. I am using a current DIVx codec, but I can not view the file. I only get a black screen of death. :( What do I need to do to view the file? <_<
