windows has this nice (read: really annoying) feature to not show the menu options you often dont use. itll only show them after clicking on the expansion arrow

Are you talking about the start menu
if so right-click the taskbar and select properties
select the start menu tab then customize
then deselect Use Personalized Menus and click ok
yeah those to, but that doesnt stop office XP from doing it :S
For Office open go to Tools -> customize then select the options tab then select Always show full menus (not to sure whether it changes for all office programs or just the one being changed)
