Hide and Password Your files and programs

I want to know if there are a couple of programs out there that will hide and put passwords on anything. It's actually 2 programs i'm looking for. one that will put a password on any icon whatsoever to open it. another is one i have heard from word of mouth. it hides itself from windows. even in the resources and processes. windows does not see it whatsoever and you punch a few keys that open a password screen where you unlock it where windows can see it. anybody have any suggestions. price doesn't matter i just want the best.

all you need is an ntfs partition and file permissions.
Then someone will need to be logged into your account to view your files.
And, provided you have a password on your Windows account, all is safe.

forget about the third-party software.

i'd probably rather have the software.

you can hide folders from people using Folder Guard - just tell it what app/file folders to hide, and it will do. This is what i use to prevent my (non-pc literate) family from seeing just how much i dl, and from accessing c:programs.

though to be more secure, the ntfs system is the best way, cos it will be more secure - google for a tutorial.

I suppose the 3rd way would be a program to do the changes in the permissions without having to do it manually, but i dunno if that exists :)

No glitches at all as ive seen on other Hide programs if you use a reg cleaner etc

Magic Folders is probably the software you are thinking about. It's fairly widespread and highly thought of.

I think motherflux's solution is the most practicable tho'

magic folders is one of those i tried (a while back)
i prefer the above mentioned
