how do i record stuff that is played on the PC, as a new .MP3 file?

hey guys.. how you all doing?

you know you can hear loads of things online, like music, radio shows etc...

well, i know of a website that plays chart music, and i would like to record it.. now i tried Nero Wave Editor, but that just records the microphone, so the quality was rubbish minus...

does anyone know of a program i can use to record music/radio shows to my computer, not with the microphone, and if anyone can give me a guide to it too?
