Re: Speed Up Firefox Heavily
could you ask at the other forum - exactly what does it do? what does it edit?
and shouldnt there be different settings for 56krs/cable/dsl etc?
Re: Speed Up Firefox Heavily
If I read it right, it makes multiple connections to the server.
A point worth noting, the maximum number of concurrent connections to a server used to be 8, but it was reduced to 2 (in theory 1 downloading and the other requesting) because the higher number caused traffic problems for some servers and other problems for ISPs. This is a general internet convention which is supposed to be observed by all browsers.
I suspect this patch simply raises the limit, so it doesn't matter what sort of connection you've got, but you are unlikely to notice much benefit if you've got a slow connection.
BTW, it really works. :w00t:

Bloody hell :w00t:
Speeded up lots.... :)
Re: Speed Up Firefox Heavily
seems like good stuff
but isnt there a real test we can do for it?
like a speed test
som peeps may be confusing pages being opened quick with cached files, with the work of the patch
Re: Speed Up Firefox Heavily
I'm willing to bet it just does the same thing as this thread.
Re: Speed Up Firefox Heavily
it does seem to work quite well ;0

Something along the lines of that. But if you use both then your browsing speed should double, if not triple.
A good way to test this is by deleting all your Cache. Type something in google, go to images and see how fast it loads. Took o.4 seconds to load pictures of "Goku" :)

If thats what this patch does then using More connection will cuase more bandwitdh(download speed) which will result in slowing ongoing downloads(like ur downloading somehting of BT), isnt?\
Example:
On current FF setting it uses 2 connection =4Kb(1Connection X 2Kb)
after tweaking it will be 10Coonection =20Kb(1Connection X 2Kb)
Correct me....
