Possibly Building a comp?
Ive been thinking maybe for my B-day I could ask my uncle if he could buy me the stuff yo build a comp. This is the stuff ive come up with so far I think its too expensive when you add it all up (1066.99 + shipping). Could you guys maybe point me to some other parts that would be good for gaming but cheaper like ram and whatnot :unsure: To get it under 1000$ would be great, id like a good gaming rig and you guys know whats good and whats not some give me some imput :) BTW: I LIKE THAT CASE!!! but for some of you who have it tell me what the pros and cons of it. :ohmy:

I'd recommend a DfI motherboard, if you're planning on overclocking

The psu that comes with that case, uber sucks, so you really wont be able to oc if you use that type of psu.
Seeingg you're considering getting a low cas latency ram, im seeing you're planning on overclocking your processor ?
i'd recommend a ram with 2-2-2-5 cas latency.
BTW, why spend 125$ on a retail ram ? I have western digital 160GB SATA , i got for only 95$. And it works great.
I'd recommend a dvd drive/burner like this, instead of that cd drive

What CPU? Your link leads to a MS mouse...
I think you are paying a premium for bling with the Fatality board.
This Gigabyte is more fully featured for $60 less.
Patriot ram is what I'll be using on mine.
F1 is correct about the included PSU...don't even think of trying to use it.

yeah i'd recommend that ram since it has the exact same cas latency as the Corsair and its cheaper (about 20$ cheaper)
For a cpu the amd athlon 64 3000+ skt 939 is good enough, plus its only like 150$ and performs as good as a p4 3.2Ghz.
And i'd go with clocker's suggestion, the gigabyte motherboard is a better bu, if you arent planning on overclocking anything...

and, if you are not particularly partial to ATi....
you can save probably 100 bucks by going with a 6600GT video card
only thing is its half the bus width i believe (128 vs 256)

Yeah 6600GT is of coarse cheaper, but it only has 128MB. And also i've out, its performance is better than a 9800pro but certainly not better than the x800xl.
