PS2 "the DVD player is not setup"

I've bought Ps2 slim , and this is the problem I have had. I was watching a DVD one day, then the next day I tried to watch the same one I watched the day before, and a message came up telling me that the DVD player is not setup. there is nothing in the options that gives me the opportunity to setup or not setup the DVD player..... Can someone please HELP me, THANKS IN ADVANCE

try inserting a memory card? the ps2 prolly stores the dvd player settings on the memcard.

edit: oh. i just googled. looks like this is a worse problem than i thought. sounds like you've got a bios chip problem. might require a repair by sony. if it's a mod-chipped ps2, maybe it's a bad mod installation?

ya i found the solution, pressing the power buttion for 3 sec will do it, its fine now, anyway thanks

i almost suggested that, but i figured that you would already know about any special button presses required by a modchip.
