Having Trouble Installing Power Color Redeon 9250 PCI 256MB

768 MB of Ram

Hi, i just bought a Power Color Redeon 9250 PCI/256MB, I don't have a AGP slot.
My having trouble installing it.
I followed the instruction but my computer isn't delecting it. When i tried to install the driver it gives this error : "No hardware device found! Please check your hardware card first or Browse its CD directory for the right driver to install !"
Here are the Steps I did:
1) I turn off my PC
2) I open the case
3) I inserted the video card in the PCI slot
4) I close the case and restarted my computer.
5) I put the cd(installation driver) that was given to me.
6) It gave me the error: "No hardware device found! Please check your hardware card first or Browse its CD directory for the right driver to install !"
Can someone please help me

When my friends ATI 9600XT wasnt being detected i just downloaded some drivers from guru3d.com and it was fine. The drivers on the CD were shite or someshit.

What you are describing could be two entirely separate issues.
If your PC is not detecting the card, then you have a motherboard issue...either a problem with that specific PCI slot or the PCI controller in general.
You would have no video at all, which does not seem to be the case.
In the second, it is a driver issue.
You DO have video, but it running on generic XP drivers.
If this is happening, go to Control Panel>System>Device Manager and look at Video Adaptors.
Try to force your supplied drivers by uninstalling the current vid adaptor and pointing to the driver CD to reinstall.
You may have to run Driver Cleaner to eradicate any old, conflicting drivers and ease the path for the new ones.
Or you may just have a dodgy CD (it does happen).
Find appropriate drivers on the net and try those.
