when sawing a piece of wood into 2 - make a quick slash backwards with saw to indent & mark cut point, then do a complete(total saw length) slash backwards - then forwards - keep saw leaning close to hand.

Painting thin areas
when painting thin window frames etc - no need for thin brushes, simply while painting smoothly along the stretch of the frame, slowly rotate the brush - avoid too much coffee before hand.
