"Safely Remove Hardware" icon

Anyone know how I can remove the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from my taskbar? It's from my external harddrive.

check "hide unactive icons" at the bottom

But isn't the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon a nessesary one? :unsure:

Why would it be nessesary? I don't plan on unplugging my harddrive.

Oh, alright. Uh... did either of those 2 methods work?

Well I did the first, all that did was hide it, which adds the arrow to un-hide it. I was kinda hoping to remove it completely, I don't know if I should try the second, because then would my external hdd be able to turn off?

Right Click taskbar, and configure the inactive icons.
