What are the pros and cons of each and overall which is better for speeds and connecting to peers?
(btw can u do encryption on Azureus?)
uTorrent: Less Memory usage then Azureus
uTorrent: In MY opinion a WAY better layout then Azureus
uTorrent: No JAVA needed
Azureus: Much more plugins and other nice stuff
But Im always using BitSpirit (Still the nicest for me), besides that I use sometimes Azureus. But of you dont like a resourcehog, I prefer you using uTorrent.
Speeds doesnt really matter...
i love utorrent
simply: the best
i have to agree with u guys, u torrent rocks!
Thanx
I was azureus, and then swiched to utorrent, now i am back with Az. I like it better, and the resources it uses does not bother my performance.
I've never liked Azureus... I don't know why really.. I just don't like it...
I used to be a BC boy, but shortly after i tried utorrent i unistalled BC!:)
utorrent is good! Its features are adequate, i have bo problem with the speed! What more do i need?
I've used Azureus for a long time. If ur system can handle the memory drain, I think its an excellent program.
Azureus makes faster connections than utorrent, so your download speed increases to optimum faster.. but in the end they are both about the same speed.
UTorrent all the way. Small, fast and simple. I tried Azureus and while I liked all the plug-in options it just didn't suit me :) I was a little worried when I read about them selling out to anit p2p group Pearfactor. But am satisfied with their explenation ( http://www.utorrent.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7038 ) 4 now and will continue to use it. It's a great client. Connects to peers fast and I consistantly get high download speeds. Only drawback no UDP support...but so what.
I have to agree with µTorrent, I was a Azureus fanatic, though I couldn't cope with the resource hogging and memory leaks. µTorrent is almost exactly the same functionality and layout wise, though is C++ based rather than Java, so it is extremely light, and resource friendly.
Just by you saying that you use bitspirit shows that you are no good to the bit torrent community. Its the biggest cheat of a client out there. The damn thing actually has an option that you can turn on or off so it either does or doesnt report your ratio.Bunch of crap if you ask me.Utorrent all the way peace out.Quote:

azureus
uTorrent just rocks!
utorrent is great but don't forget to write_queue_size 4000
I started out with BitComet and used it for the longest time until it started getting banned. Made the switch to Azureus and liked some of the features. Then I gave uTorrent a try and never turned back. The best of both worlds.
utorrent u can't go wrong wit it :)
uTorrent for me, simpy the best!
Speeds r the same. How fast you download depends on a number of factors but mainly the seeders your connected to. Your client makes no difference to download / upload speeds. But as far as the program goes, UTorrent is faster because it uses less resources and leaves a smaller footprint :DQuote:

Utorrent
1)extremely light(incredibly lighter than azureus which uses jre)
2)very good connection management (much better than azureus)
3)alot of options available ,basically more than anybody could ask for, from a free 350 kB prog
4)accepted from all private trackers
Azureus
1)remote monitoring using widjets
So utorrent ROCKS...(although i would like remote features...)
Utorrent rocks. Uses minimum resources and automatically decrypts p2p file transfers which is a big plus depending on yoru ISP ;)
utorrent does exactly what i want and has all the relevant info displayed right there.
azureus was feeling a little bit bloated and utorrent has been keeping me happy since i switched.
Azureus has plugins. Until uTorrent does it can stay where it is, off my computer :)
My favourite is Stuffer, which I use to block all clients except uTorrent and Azureus (current and last 2 versions).
i think only allowing those 2 clients is a bad idea
but i do think having the option to ban certain clients is a good idea
or the author writing in some sort of code that when u check a box saying something like "ban leeching/cheating clients", it will ban the clients known to cheat and leech.
µtorrent currently has no banning facilities at all, either for banning clients or peers. the author thinks it would be abused, and be bad for the swarm, and bittorrent in general.
i think it would be a good idea, as it would force the users of these clients to get a better client, as they wouldnt be able to connect to anyone. or the authors of these clients would fix their crap, and make it fairer.
utorrent by a mile, so lite and easy.
Yup, definitely uTorrent for me. The best client available! :)
I just switched to uTorrent from Azureus recently because of uT's small size but notice that I been getting more Event ID 4226 errors in XP. This anything to do with uTorrent or is it just me?
I prefer utorrent when im downloading torrents but use Azureus when I upload. I can kick and ban users who aren't sharing and I use the stuffer plugin to auto kick users with bad clients.
No-one with BitComet, Bitlord etc can connect to me.
I've never used Azareus but uTorrent does everything that I want it to do.
uTorrent is best choice for users with slow-PC :) it use less than 2MB, so I can play quake and download movies :D
utorrent ftw :01:
if u patched ur xp sp2 u should not have this problem i have utorrent and it used to give this error but not after i patched tcpip.sysQuote:

I switched to u torrent for some time but i'm back to azureus again. uTorrent even on my A64 3200+ sometimes stucks. But In my opinion Azureus is best bittorent client (It sucks internet speed) and there's not enough crap dta.. It is getting better and better.
utorrent is teh shit!
Utorrent the best for sure
I have to say that µTorrent is the best BTclient that has been put out. their testing and speed is bar none
I switched from Azureus to utorrent just because azureus is such a system hog. apart from that i don´t know which one is the best. To me they more or less resemble each other, with more or less the same features. I dont particulary miss anything with Azureus.
not even something to think about. utorrent is a lot better
Which 1 takes more sources ?
taking more memory ?
Azureus....
Utorrent is the best.
