This better be good though, for the 6 year long wait. Meaning 10 was alright but that horrid battle system. What were they thinking (Of course this is only my opinion)?
Btw, I heard that it was the final version. There might be one or two extremely tiny changes but pretty much the exact same game. But what do I know.
I just played the game on an emulator, seemed to run well, subtitles seems like the only thing they needed to work on..

playing it on my ps2 right now, seems to run perfectly well. Subtitles work fine. I believe thhis game was leaked/stolen from a game reviews company.

I thought they dubbed it. All that time just to put in subs. Jeeze. Too bad they couldn't just get a good anime fabsub group to do it.
they also dubbed it lol...game gives you option to view subs along with the dubbing.

nothing, it was the emulator's fault... subtitles appear fine as i play it on my PS2..

Subs are 95- 99 % like the audio english dub.
You may see them shorthand a word or two, but for 95-99% of the time (up to 2 hours of my experience) it has been head on.

I had a discussion about this for a while.
Yes Magicks will stay that spelling. I'm sure that Square Enix left it that way for a reason.
I just thought it was wierd at first, but they consistantly use it in speech and in the tutorials, etc.
If nothing else, it would take a pretty long time to re-dub and re-subtitle and re-do the menu system to just say "Magic"

this game is fucking amazing btw. i'm 2.5 hrs in. love it! the map is awesome. it tells u exactly where u need to go! no more wandering around for hours trying to figure out wtf is going on. and love the lack of random battles! this game fucking pwns!
FFS wish my PS2 was modded at times like this :(

if you're looking for a cheap chip that can read DVD-R/+R's then get the duo2se. it cost me 25 shipped. of course installing the modchip is the hard part. oh and yeah, you'll probably have to change your current ps2 laser (this reads the disk).

the best modchip imo is the crystal chip (1.1, not 1.0, 2.0 should be coming out or is out already). it has all the same features of the other chips, and it has one feature that none of them have. i forgot what it's called, but it allows you to play all ps2 games online w/o having to mess with the disk image on your computer.

Yeah if you like playing online get the crystal chip (dnas bypassing)
I use a dms3 flashed to the latest firmware. it works great for me (its the solder one). I just sent my ps2 to a modder (found him through xbox-scene forums) and had him install it.
Then my laser quit, so I had another guy replace my laser who i also found from the xbox-scene forums.
Oh, and I have a v4 ps2
It says on the Crystal Chips site that the CC 2.0 does not allow you to boot backup or burned games... why then is everyone on the ps2-scene forum so stoked over this new chip? It's HDD capabilities?Quote:
