In Bittorrent (uTorrent) if I allow unlimited uploads it slows my download speed, however if I limit it to 50% of the maximum upload the download speeds up.

Sometimes the faster you're uploading the slower your overall download speed is.
Or does it slow down before it actually starts to upload quicker (at unlimited)?
Limit it to about 80% of you bandwith (upload)
If you max your up it will kill your down speed.
Mess around with the setting to experiment.
You want to up the most possible without slowing the down.
Then you will keep a good ratio and get stuff fast.

Same here more or less..if one experiments one will find the best upload speed that allows the fastest download speed...I had noticed too that other clients when I slow my upload speed, tend to speed up...the best upload speed I found was 32 KBs, that always seemed to speed up my download to maximum.. :)Quote:

The content of the tracker is phenomenal. The are the first to have just about every torrent on the scene. The speeds are faster than any other tracker.
Pay-to-leech is only a negative circumstance when users buy buffers in order not to seed back and in turn, other users download speeds suffer. That is obviously not a problem at SCT.
They're happy, and the users are happy. A well oiled, successful business, indeed.
