as the title says, what is the best site for DVD-R ?
Surely Norbits and swedvd but if i have choice i will prefer norbits :P
TDC + SCT = More DVDs than your HD and BW can handle.
Swedvd , NB , Swebits.
TDC + TTi
Yeah, TDC has a nice collection, and in SCT you can find all the new releases in DVD.
within the next week i'm planning a torrents.ru review, get ready guys, you'll be shocked how many dvd's are there
swedvdr
TDC, TTi, SweDVDR.
tti
TTi say WHAT!!!!!
Although the site layout might take a while to get used too.... oh yeah, u might want to translate a few word here and there, it's not that bad.
NOW I HAVE A BIG SECRET that's gonna be like a turning point in one of those tv shows.
I don't actually live in Russia...
GASP!!
American :)
Interesting, but I have felt it is hard to be a part of the community. Like even sites that have English forums but a lot of X speakers, it is hard to join the conversation, you know what I mean?
And as for your shocker, I know. I saw something in one of your old posts about where you live. Bourbon? ;)
I'm not a stalker, I just happen to read old threads because I'm such a noob and I have an insane memory.
I couldnīt join to SWEDVDr nor NorBits yet, but Iīve heard those are the best.
TTi is awesome, and if we talk about NTSC frmat, besides the best 0days trackers (FTN, ScT, TL, etc) TDC and BitHQ are very good... not awesome speeds, but that for me is not the most important. And PiSexy, there I could find authentic jewels that I havenīt seen in other sites.
if movie is originally in english, 90% i'll say..
they are just surviving on advertisement and ads are for russian market.. so foreign users are allowed but not hmm.. needed )
i hate it when they do transcoding on bithq :)
and first thing i saw on pisexy was hustler'1961, it was like wow! too bad that many dvd-r are recompressed dvd9 on 0day sites..
ps where is reason for editing "Automerged Triplepost"? :P
BitHQ is a better tracker than TDC - more content, better rules, etc.
It's the best all-around DVD-R tracker, I'd say. It has a lot of Asian content, too, and some of the rare/obscure movies - more than TDC gets.
TTi, Norbits, and Swe-DVDR really only have appeal to PAL users - so if you're just into PAL content, then they're really good. If NTSC - they're not so good.
Another tracker not mentioned is PiSexy - I don't really care for the tracker over-all, but they have a good selection of DVD-R, NTSC and PAL - and it's not all scene stuff so you get a variety.
Cinematik is there for rare/obscure/foriegn content.
ADC has Asian and anime DVDRs.
Both are good for what they offer.
I personally use BitHQ+Cinematik. I used to use TDC as my main source, and I'm holding on to it for the time being - just in case, but I don't find much reason to go there anymore.
swedvdr :)
NB and thats what i am looking for
but there are some other tracker like
TDC &swedvdr+swebits
I made little comparison with today's stats.
swebits:
2087 dvdr + 2024 req dvdr = 4111 dvdr. (1200 tv dvdr + 46music dvdr).
4111 + 1246 =5357
tti:
2722 dvdr torrents + 472 dvd boxet + 102 motw = 3296
TDC:
749 ntsc dvd5 + 144 pal dvd5 + 17 ntsc music + 9 pal music + 202 ntsc dvd9 + 27 dvd9 = 893 dvd5 + 229 dvd9 + 26music = 1148
piratebits:
1390 dvdr + 545 req dvdr = 1935 dvdr
piratetorrents:
947 dvdr + 335 req dvdr = 1282
bithq:
1949 dvdr (not included scr /ts/ r5 bullshit) + 262 dvdr series= 2211
pisexy browsedvd.php:
1282 dvdr
powerbits:
2554 swe dvdr(nordic) + 188 kids dvdr + 283 eng dvdr( ntsc) + 90 power dvdr ( some packs and something..) = 3115
Nordic-T:
1715 dvd5 + 12 dvd9 = 1727
dvdquorum:
4057 pal +530 ntsc + 260 imdb top250 (dvd5 + dvd9 makes it over 250 :D) + 1122 animation (anime, kids) + 59 sports + 428 documentaries +887 music + 1500 series= 4587 movies + other = ~8900 dvdr
dvdquorum >Swebits > tti > powerbits > bithq > piratebits > Nordic-T > pisexy & piratetorrents > TDC
So this is only content comparison. I am nordic user so I prefer pal dvdr with nordic subs. That's why many of sites I included are swe or nordic. Most of users probably don't download dvd9 / mdvdr/ season packs so I tried list all stats separately to give best idea what sites offer.
This comparsion might surprise some1( for example nobody mentioned powerbits).
I hope someone can make stats lists from Swedvdr and Norbits because I don't have them. It would be nice to know are they really worth for chase.
edit1: added dvdquorum. It has many dvdr but I stiff prefer my old nordic sites. because I don't understand those spanish titles. Releases probably is not even scene.
thank you very much, i waited for a long time for something like that. imo, non scene releases are better since scene always tries to recompress dvd's
tl: 619 dvd torrents (including dozens of pack)
cinematik: 6358 dvd torrents (including about 50 packs)
revolutiontt: 600 dvd-t torrents plus couple of packs
Most of the users prefer dvd5 because those discs are so much cheaper than dvd9. And splitting dvd9 to 2 dvd5 isin't good idea because I don't want which dvd during the movie.
I know scene isin't perfect. I usually choose "p2p group" when I download hd stuff. x264 sd p2p groups are too very good and I nowadays try to find those releases
If you have TDC+TTi
Then you do not need swedvdr or norbits,
because together they are better than swedvdr or norbits
..i'll keep updating my post, feel free to update your with my data
of course single layer blank dvd's are cheaper, but first of all i'd like to watch movie in the highest possible quality. i mean, full hd non recompressed :) and dvd's are for older/rarer releases. and still i'd like to have them in best possible quality. and.. i don't have a dvd player (oops), i watch movies from pc so i don't have no problem of 2dvd's and etc...
plz man, stop that, your post is _non informative_ at all
TDC TTi is the beast
TL + Pisexy
# of torrents doesn't mean anything. How many of those 9,000 torrents do you want and how many could you actually get at a decent speed? How many of them are actually 3+ DVD sets? Sheer numbers means very little to me.
swebits > *
Swedvdr and NB
you know, i don't give a damn about speeds. at all. bonus dvd disc to memento i downloaded at 3 k/s. and about pretimes too. i'd better watch full-hd a year later than a crappy camrip right now. i want to have a wide choice of what i can watch. so number of torrents is usually (in case that trackers have the same, mainstream orientation) straight proportional to probability that i will find something i like. imo, of course. some other ppl may prefer to download 4.7gb recompressed and enrar-ed dvd's at 10mb/s, having the very little choice. different trackers for different needs, i don't mind :)
TTi ~~
SweDVDR, TTi and Norbits!
i use TDC
No, really? That's the whole point of there being a DVD scene.
1) DVD9s are still overpriced in the western world (excluding the US where everything is cheap because it's the healthiest economy/democracy in the west)
2) A DVD9 is significantly larger than a DVD5 (double size) making it much more of a time burn than grabbing DVD5's.
3) The most important step the scene took was making use of DVDRB and CCE's exceleent re-encoding capabilities. DVD5's from the scene have quality (when they are properly made, i.e. from proper groups, not shit fake ones) that is in many cases identical to that of the DVD9 (when video remains untouched) or so similar you'd need a magnifying glass to tell the difference.
You don't give a damn about speeds? Good for you. Others do care about speeds, it makes things much more practical. Getting a DVD5 at 3kb/s is not very practical, and unless it's a very old, outdated or rare item, it's essentially pointless. You can download 20 DVD's with the time you'd take to download 1 at 3kb/s.
And no, number of torrents has nothing to do with content being better. The site can be full of DVD's and you might not want any of them. Pisexy is full of DVD's and only a few are worth getting, for example.
Some trackers have a smaller arsenal of material (i.e. FTN) and have very exclusive rare material, that makes it worth getting most of it (esp. where DVD's and DVD Packs are concerned). BitHQ has a lot of DVD's and most are uncompressed DVD9s that the average joe that doesn't have a 100MBit line doesn't really care for. Also, it's much more of a pain in the neck to dl a DVD9 (even if you have a very fast downstream) and then have to reencode it yourself with DVDRB.
Best DVD-R torrent sites that I know of are ScT/FTN/TL. This in terms of rarity (ScT/FTN) and in terms of speed (ScT/TL/FTN). FTN abuses my downstream speed if I get a new release. Hit 1.8MB/s the other day.
Of course I'm not in NORBITs, but have heard it is great for DVD's too. Otherwise, I'd say TTi (love the Movie of the Day thing), and lastly TDC. TDC has a lot of rare shit too, but the speeds aren't the best, due to few seeders.
Swebits for PAL DVDR's absolutely!
