Lost- life sucks, sometimes
nor do i
"innocence lost" was a play or movie or something like that
Life is composed of a series of revelations.
As children, Santa Clause is real, the Easter Bunny is real, magic is magic.
As we grow older, we understand the deception or facade of these mysterious realms.
We understand romance, we understand sex, we understand relationships.
At some point, all that is has been unexplained in the world, as magic or devine is revealed to be a farce.
At some point, we crave some new magic, some new hope. It simply does not exist. Alas.
Even those corporial enties such as "true love" and such are exposed. Living in reality sucks, being stupid ceratinly(noticed the typo, the irony is too funnyto edit) has it merits.
i like what ur saying, but i still beleive true love exists - i just can't friggin find it!Quote:

y couldn't i know then what i know now? YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
True love does indeed exist. I've found it and consider myself extremely fortunate.
Don't give up hope... there is still magic in the world. You just need to have faith.
Whatever. Are you 19 or something?
We have all believed at some point. I was "in love" so many times before the age of 25.
Idiots and the average will believe what they have been told for their entire lives. I long to have a closed head injury!
Call us back in 10 years.

Hang in there. http://www.mcbriens.net/liam/img/smilies/thmbup.gif
No I'm 38.
I recently went through a very cynical patch in my life, and it nearly did me in.
Fortunately, I found a very lovely lady who has shown me that not all people are idiots... just some of them.
Don't let the child inside die. It is vital for one's sanity to retain it, at least in part.
wow dude - that motivated the schemll outta me, and i'm serious. ur 38, but talk as though ur a teenager - congrats! :DQuote:

Love is nothing but an imagination. Humanity convinced it self that love is something spontaneous and magical, when indeed it is something that grows.
Love is not fate or destiny, neither is it a matter of searching.
What love is, it is nothing more then the basic human instinct of procreation formed into a more comlex state which grows through time rather then hits all of a sudden ;)
well that was very depressing. in other words, love is boring?Quote:

Nope I am not.
If you did not have the need for sex love would be useless.
Breakdown the whole thing and all of it comes down to one simple thing.
I'll let you guess what that one simple thing is ;)

I'm glad someone got something out of what I said. :)
The ability to talk like a teen at age 38 comes from being young at brain.... errr heart.. I meant to say young at heart! Honestly! :ermm: :D
i'm not saying sex isn't important - it just shouldn't b the ONLY factor. maybe ur 2 young 2 know this, but i thought when i was 19, i knew better.Quote:

DUH!
I'm neither bitter, nor hurt, nor young. True love is a fallacy, love is hard work, marraige is hard work. Filled with compromise and sacrifice. I fail to see the attraction.
The concept that you can see someone, fall "in love" and live happily ever after is just simple shit.
The best you can hope for is to find a good friend.. Love seems to imply sexual arousal and such, that is a poor lead to follow.
People just need to find a friend who they are engaged enough by that they wish to begin a family together.
The concept of "true love" as I understood it as a child, and what constitutes a a happy marraige, are so far divergent as to be unrelated.
Men and women have such different urges that "sex" is an unfortunate common ground. The word and its implication are totally different between the genders.
edit: I did not read the above posts as I was typing
so i'm guessin ur around 48?Quote:

I'm not saying its the only factor, I am saying the basis of love, the reason it exists, the only reason men make complete idiots of them selves and women act all high and mighty  is sex.
love is the child or product of sex.
What is your relevant point, kurt.

Well, I have no reason to be angry or sad, just my experience.
I would love for there to be true love out there.
I am no kid, but I still reminder the excitement of ALL of my "firsts". Now they are mundane, and the chicks are getting fatter.
Remember kids, intelligence lasts, beauty fades!
