to elitist for me.
amazed you can download anything with a dialup.
apparently you have to have 99999999999GB of top quality files to even install the proggie
then you need another 99999999999999999999GB to connect to any hubs...
yep, downloaded white stripes and foo foo fighters on dc++ ;)Quote:

the speed was same 6KB/s
As long as you share 100GB you can get onto most hubs.Quote:

sharing 100+ GB in soulseek, J'Pol :)
LOL, dc++ is shit!
What you aren't only sharing 2GB....sorry you can't get in our hub
What you don't have a 3mb downstream....sorry you can't get in our hub
What you aren't Slovakian......sorry you can't get in our hub.
What you dat files from Kazaa in your shared folder...sorry you're banned from our hub.
Please purchase a sever and or 100GB external Harddrive to use exclusively for shared files, pay $80 a month for a super high speed connection, move Slovakia and use nothing else but Direct Connection. And don't worry if you meet all this criteria we will just disinclude you by not having enough slots open for you download off of us.
So BBT, I see you are undecided about DC++Quote:

I hope the chaps aren't missing the Jim Reeves files too much.

why share your dat files ? who needs them ?
and dont get direct connect thats spyware ! use dc++ its open source B)
that is a little shit, you are right in some ways,
as each user who share jsut a little counts also the leechers...
especially through them new ppl come...
DCC+ is so shit, why anyone would bother with it, I don't know.
I think thats a bit harsh...Quote:

i'm just saying that my experience wasn't good...i'm not doubting the quality of the program and/or users :)Quote:

there is no alternative to dc++ if you are not interested in mainstream s**t.
DC is the only program that got me started in p2p, its not the best well u see there is no such thing as best kind of like AMD vs Intel. Its like comparing apple to oranges.
DC has amazingly rare stuff which make it worth it to use on occasion, it does not mean that it can stand on it on 2 feet without the other type of p2p like emule, BT, kazaa to compensake for it's weakness.
Some who use it 24hrs a day say it the best, which imo is very biased. That we know is purely BS and just praising out of their own asses.
Depends what you're looking for, things like warez are very good with DC while with movies or big filez it tend to suck because of the lack up good user with fast connection. I get really disappointed at the quality of the rare stuff as well, their really how can say crappy? and just something that you are really desperate for.
i use dc++ along with slsk and emule - variety is the spice of life :D

I hate people complaining about DC++, they always bitch about the SAME GOD DAMN THING --not wanting to actually SHARE anything. Most hubs allow you to share less than 5 gigs of stuff. Thats 7 or 8 CDs worth of stuff!
The other complaint is teh speed you must have to enter the hub. If you are on dial up go to a dial up hub, if you are on DSL go to a DSL hub. duh --This prevents file leaching homos on Cable from pretending they are on dial up to keep people from downloading off them. IT'S ABOUT FILE SHARING NOT FILE LEACHING!
I say fuck em let them go elsewhere and not leach my stuff. faggots.
*sniffle* they won't let me in their hub because I'm a leacher... *sniffle*

I got a 20 GB HDD :))) so ...
All u gotta look for is the right hub. there's a LOT of hubs that require 1-2-3 GB shared files ONLY. Consider how much u (not u personally) share in Klite (or used to) -- at least several movies right -- so u r already sharing enought to use DC ++. guys just be open and take time to get familiar w/ the (any) program, dont just screw it. With dial up, or what eevr slow -- well lets say u r from some of the non-english speaking countries -- and u wanna d/l music in ur own language -- where the hell do u find it (unless http d/l) -- DC ++ -- most of the hubs are very international and each country has at least several hubs. My point is -- u can use DC++ to get music -- awesome rare music....
can someone help me get the client and get connected, i have never used dc before.
just let them bitch on :P their just missing one awesome p2p prog if u ask me
look around in offical DC++ Discussion Forum - http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum/
DC++ is by far better than Kazaa and MUCH faster on average than emule/BT, or any p2p for that matter. But from the way most of the people in this thread have been bitching, I'm glad you aren't using DC++. Free up some of the 200+ KB/s slots next time I want a movie or something. :)
You just gotta connect to a few of your favorite hubs that allow your sharesize and qeue up only the users with very good connections. Sooner than later the download will start and you will have a consistent speed throughout the night. When people say they use DC++ nonstop 24/7, it's true! If you leave your computer on with dc running uninterrupted, qeue up as many files as you want and they will be done amazingly fast.Quote:

Also, I don't understand how you can say the quality of the movies is less than stuff on BT/emule. Every VCD/SVCD/XVID release is abundant on DC, particularly the SVCD releases which most other p2p's lack.
DC++ is safer {in my opinion} coz as far as i know, the riaa is not whatchin it, unlike kazza & imesh :D
