Try KCEasy: www.kceasy.com
It can pick any file off FastTrack, and is based on giFT libraby (compiled as a dll). Really good speeds. It can also connect to Gnutella and OpenFT. Has a future!
Mammoth 0.1.3 and KCEasy 0.9 work great.
Looks like the main dev effort is for UNIX :(Quote:

I love this mammoth... it still has many thing to improve, but it has a complete source code... (not just files to crack, like kl)
I see a great future in mammoth, and in other gift clients...!!!
I have $100 for the person who make a gift client completely looks and feels like Kazaa Lite :)
does it? thats news to me :rolleyes:Quote:

They currently only provide a CVS, which isnt as good as a source code ;)

I've only said that they have a complete code not as K-Lite developers...
So the developers have a much easyer work, and it means that it can be much better...
Yeh steal this program. :P
From the website it does say that 1 of the additions on version 0.1.3 is ti is now shoing Kazaa user count, so does that just mean whatever the number of uses logged on to Kazaa is shows on this, and if so then it puts your theory to rest.
no it couldnt display it before cause they didnt know how but they connect to kaza and if ya want proof just ask me and ill prove it connects to kazaa

KCeasy has source code ;) http://kceasy.sourceforge.net/
Do you like to "adopt" it ? It's multi search tabs could be easier to modify to auto-search-more ... :P
And......... it is for Windows only ...
i hope they dont add unlimited autosearch more, they should ban any client that has it, there is never a reason to need more then 50 search results (200 max) to download a file.Quote:

Any more then that and youre just wasting the supernodes time and bandwidth.
If you can't find what youre searching for with 200 results you arent searching right.
the only thing unlimited autosearch more is good for is to try to find every file on the network, and then you let it run for hours, even though you can never download every file on the network. :frusty:
i hope they add more from same "artist" or "album" though

@Vargas -
I'm not sure how to explain this, but here is my problem:
When trying to search for popular files - you are correct. But here is the thing - when trying to search for a rare (or new) file it is very hard to do it in up to five re-tries.
And - since the search string is very limited to "and" logic w/o "wild characters" - it is even harder.
Try to search, for example, for chapter 11 of the TV series "24" season 3. I was using -
search "video", >300MB , "24 3x11", or "24 311".
You'll see that you need a few hours to get just a few results...
I think that it is up to the supernodes to "protect" themselves against overload by searches. If they are designed correctly, the network will not be overloaded.
So, maybe you can show me how to do it better
rightclick someone with season 3 episode 10 and find more from same user.Quote:

I tried, but it realy does not work that way. Also - you need to start with at least 30-40 users/sources to get a reasonable selection and speed. :(

Nothing realy, just that it is not for me...
I just installed mammoth and I must say wow by looks it's my favorite p2p so far mabey better then kazaa lite, we'll see.
what about search more can I do that or will it be added?
remember its still beta and here is the new official forums FORUMS CLICK HERE and YES a search more feature will be implemented soon
Looks very cool , if i go back to fasttrack i will use that.
what do u currently use
Movies and apps = eMule , warez boards.
Music = Blubster.
i support this program all the way, its the best p2p client i come accross :), the only downside is it doesnt have auto search more but that will be in the next version anyway so :)
I've read an interview (in Dutch with the developer of Mammoth. You can find the interview here.
Mammoth uses an Imesh dll to connect the FastTrack network. This will make it almost impossible to block Mammoth from the network. GiFT can be blocked any time as has been proved in th past.
I agree, it needs further developing, but i like client this better than all these K-Lite versions.
Can you translate for us the interview , please. :)Quote:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Grokster\LocalContent]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\iMesh\LocalContent]
keys to determine where to put the download####.dat files
you can set one to you mammoth download folder and your quick links will work
save above code as sig2mam.reg and double click it to add registry settings to mammoths default folder.Code:REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kazaa\LocalContent]
"DownloadDir"="C:\\Program Files\\Mammoth\\My Downloads"
EDIT you also need K-Sig or Sig2dat installed.

as people have said before fasttrack is crappy with all the currupted files and stuff, and multiple networks is better then one. KCEasy is showing promise once they get all the bugs worked out.
why donīt someone just steal the real sourcecode to kazaa (the newest kmd version) and cracks it open so it is backwards compatible with the k-lite network (the supernode version)
and removes the spy/add/shit ware and pimp it up so it can used as the best k-lite client ? and let the tools be the best ?
i hope some friendly soul in sharman will steal the source code and release it
please God it would be the best
:D :D :D :D
Any port-forwarding?
Cause it disbaled incoming port.
Opinions...
Enable what port we are using so I can port-forward it.
I have a habit of closing the window, but if I do it with mammoth it closes the whole program. So can you minimize it instead of closing the whole program?
Thanks.
Works great, just enable some important options.
GrubMe please report and suggestions to the official Mammoth Forums located at http://mammoth.sourceforge.net/forum/

I just downloaded this mammoth and I must say its the biggest resource hog I have seen so far...went into my task manager and saw that my CPU usage had sky rocketed to 91%...then I got the alert message saying that my physical memory was to low and that it would increase to adjust for mammoth..then my pc just completely froze up..had to reset it by manually turning it off...to make a long story short..BYE BYE Mammoth...Delete
Report bugs there.
Good help.
For god sake Just let kazaa die.............
