Recently I have noticed that there are fewer and fewer members online and its taking longer and longer for new new replies to turn up to posts :(
Are there any plans being made behind the scenes to attract more members or is it just a case of oh well? :unsure:
I'd hate to see the forum dissappear, is there anything we the members can do to help?
You see the 'Archive' links @ the bottom of the page?
Krohn explained those will bring more members because it had something todo with more google search results. But I dunno if that is already activated/working
All those archive links seem to do for me is to do the 'lo-fi thing' that it does on ipb :blink:

As for the number of posts and members, it is actually the same from before we left IPB. It has consistantly been picking up since the swtchover, and we are getting more and mroe traffic from google. Remember that the board now counts visits from the past 15 minutes instead of an hour like IPB was doing.
I am basically just waiting on Martin to get some more time to make some changes to both the forum and the main site. Everything is running smootly now, and that was our top priority.

I've being coming here less since the switchover because I just dont like the appearence of the board, its gives me a headache.
I was also unhappy that the I had a thread closed once with no explaination. I queried this with every admin and mod and was never told why. I figured that if my contribution to this board doesn't even warrant a little repect then my presence would not really be missed.
However I do love lots of aspects of this board
- the community
- the people (even the d***h****s)
- the way it can cheer me up when I've had a miserable day
- the fact that i know i can log on at any time of the day or night and just fool around if I want too
I understood the archive thing to just be in a formatt that suits search engine bots more so they can spider it easier (leading to higher listings in searches etc).
I don't find I need to visit FST that much anymore. I used to to check up on how K++ was doing and look around for help. On the whole I find I can solve more P2P problems by myself and if I have trouble with specific software I just go to their forums for help. The verified sections here are good but there are plenty of other sites that offer a similar thing.

Yes, it appears that way.
It seems to be a general trend on most Forums. Because they are 'dying' everyone is looking for 'small' but reasonably busy/friendly places to be. This is where the Admin/Mod earn their keep. Look around and see what is attracting members to other forums and adopt accordingly. :)

It's not dying, it's recouping, if everyone just stopped moaning and carried on as we used to then there would be no problem, only the members can kill a forum :)

I just don't see how it's dying, yeah ok it's been quietish of late, but the main concensus here is because some of the "Big" Names as such are gone everyone thinks we are losing members, but there are new people coming in, like I said, the only people who can make or break a forum are the members, whether or not we are here, it does'nt matter to the actual wedsite itself, it will still be here, but the members fuel it, it's down to them to keep it flowing, the Admin keep it running, the mods keep it tidy and in order and the members keep it alive, as long as there are members........how can it die? :)

I would say that the forum is dying at an alarming rate. Those in the UK may not notice this as much because you guys ARE the board. When you go to sleep at about 7:00 my time, the board just sits there until morning. Last night I saw 8 people online.
When is the last time we got a new impact player, particularly in the DRawing Room. I'm tired of listening to people whose opinions I am already familiar with.
To Rookie, I think that the people are more likely to post if you displayed the active members in 45 minutes. When you see 8 people on at 10 pm, you just don't bother to post. Also, when it gets low and you are 1 of 3 people in the lounge, people start to call you out to post. I don't want to post that way.
Although it may seem odd to ask for this change, it really might make a difference, based on human psychology.
Any belief that the board is picking up is absolutely delusional.

And it the google search has nothing to do with Admin, that's down to bots to update, admin has no control over what comes up in google except to limit the bot to what it can and can't see :)
