I've never heard the duet; at the relatively late date it must have taken place, I'm sure Zappa enjoyed being pushed a bit.
Everybody's heard the Zappa/Vai tale, but I must admit my readings of Musician/Guitarist predate Vai by a decade or so, and I've always been curious as to why Vai was such a big fan...
neil peart is amazing
Um joey from slipknot was pretty good...
I have to say Dave Grohl and not for his work in Nirvana, his greatest drumming was done on the QOSTA album Songs For The Deaf absolutely mind blowing.
Tool - Danny Carey
Rush - Neil Peart
Opeth - Martin Lopez
King Crimson, Yes - Bill Bruford
Behemoth - Inferno
Finalized list for now:
The drummers on that list are the ones that set the standard and raise the bar EVERYTIME a new album of theirs is released. Before posting others, do the research (ok most research would be biased opinions), better yet, listen to some of their stuff.Quote:
1) Chris Adler (Lamb of God)
2) Joey Jordison (Slipknot)
3) Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall)
4) Danney Carey (Tool)
Honorable Mentions: Derek Roddy (Hate Eternal) and
Lars Ulrich (Metallica) <--pre-Black Album days
Lars Ulrich
I don't like any drummers.
