Re: Can anybody talk me down from buying a bicycle?
A guy I work with just participated in the Gatineau Grand Prix. He rode the S-Works Tarmac SL4 which apparently cost him $3800 (oh, the french). He told me, later discovered as a non-exaggeration, that the entire thing could basically be lifted up on a pinky, and that's when my fascination with bikes started this week. Then I come to FST and see this thread.
I'm going to repair my trodden mountain bike and go for a spin soon. Then I'm going to feel awful about people owning bikes that cost a 100 times more than mine.

Don't hate on Funkin' just because he's better than you, and has a nicer bike.

I've actually raced Gatineau and the course profile makes it look like it's all hills but the only one you really notice is Camp Fortune and that's only because you come onto it of a slow left turn .Even then it's <2 kms and immediately followed by a downhill.
The course is actually harder to get away than to get dropped on .
Unless you start on the Quebec side and have the French National development team decide to do a TTT onto the base at 60km a hour.

Well, they could've taught you grammar. How long did it take you to learn to ride a bike. I had that shit nailed when I was about six.
