What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?

127 hours for the 2nd time. loved it. funnyily i know a doctor who is scared to watch it.

the last flick i saw was 2011(sci-fiction) really loved that movie!!!!!!

Sunshine (2007).

Pretty good science-fiction flick I hadn't seen yet. Raises a few fundamental issues, solid acting, enjoyable and not boring. Recommended if you like sci-fi movies.

A Twist Of Sand from 1968, great stuff - a perilous journey - hot female companion -double-crossing scoundrel who 'gets it' in the end

Elephant.White.2011,intresting storied

Super- Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Kevin Bacon, Liv Tyler and (briefly) Nathan Fillion.

I can't recall a movie as tonally wrong as Super.
I wonder why, at some point in post production, someone didn't say, "What are we trying to do here?" and reevaluate the film...because it's a mess.

Whether they intended it or not, comparisons will/must be made to Kick Ass because the premise is the same- what if a regular person became a superhero?
Kick Ass was by no means a great film but was more cohesive in spirit and execution than Super manages to be and was much more enjoyable.

Rainn Wilson plays an everyman schlub improbably married to Liv Tyler, a recovering drug/alcohol addict.
Tyler is seduced and spirited away by Kevin Bacon, a sleazy nightclub owner who deals drugs on the side.
After a few humiliating confrontations with Bacon, Wilson has a truly unsettling religious vision and decides to confront evil as a superhero, The Crimson Bolt.

The movie's few glimpses of the humor/pathos come as The Bolt begins his quest for justice ( he spends hours behind a dumpster, waiting for a crime to occur nearby) but after a semi-promising beginning, The Bolt turns psycho instead of super and the weirdness begins.

The Bolt is joined by Boltie, the obligatory sidekick, played by Ellen Page.
Page works in a comic book store and is consulted by Wilson as he tries to craft his superhero persona. She figures out what is going on and barges in on Wilson's revenge.
She is even more psychotic than The Crimson Bolt.

Given the cast and the premise, one could forgiven for expecting a more light-hearted and "fun" movie...Super is neither.
The violence is excessive and surprisingly graphic.
The main characters are unlikable and weird.

Super sucks.

The Matrix....review...

Paprika (2006), a really good movie (and i didn´t usually like animated movies). Christopher Nolan cited Paprika as an influence on his 2010 feature film, Inception.

It seems Christopher Nolan pretty much copied the same concept and changed a few variables. What a thief!

Gamer / 2009

Cinematography is amateur. Opening scene was ridiculously fast paced, plot seemed to just jump everywhere. Not recomended to be viewed if you suffer from epeleptic fits.

Incendies 9/10

Although it is a Canadian movie it is probably the best modern adaption of ancient greek tragedy I've seen in my life.
A mother dies in a dumbfounded shock and her last wish is going to reveal the extraordinary sequence of coincidences that ruled her life
The opening title of Radiohead I don't think suits the story but after that there is a powerful drama with Lebanon civil war in the background.
Religious, family, love, hate, madness of war the movie is full of messages and feelings even if you know that it can't be true

The best last year's movie IMHO (haven't seen Biutiful yet)

Schindler's List (1993)

I remember watching it a few years after it came out. But I was young at the time and didn't really pay attention to it (or really care, I suppose). After watching it again I have to say it's fantastic. Quite long though at just over three hours. I'll even admit near the end, when Oscar Schindler had to flee after the war was over and he began to break down and cry, I did as well. Powerful movie.

That little girl in the red dress was a pretty powerful scene too ;).

Madagascar 2 // 2008

The three friends leave where they get stranded and crash land in Africa. While the penguins fix the plane the Giraffe, Hippo and Lion remake the events in the Lion King 1-2. As I was watching it I couldn't help but notice the political references throughout the film then it was confirmed in the scene where the Liberal Penguins had to negotiate with the Unionist Monkeys to rebuild the plane.

after reading a few post ago (I think) about how awful this movie was, I just watched 'Rio',
and you are crazy* dude, this move is awesome, light-hearted fun,
and I was not expecting much of it.

And yesterday I watched 'Drive Angry' with Nick Cage,
it is not a good movie, but I've seen a lot worst.
The one good thing about it is the guy who plays 'the accountant',
damn he's good. I would see it again just for him.

While you saw it just for the "accountant" guy the rest of the male population saw it just for Amber Heard :P.

Then the percentage that are ghey have good taste in women.

Btw speaking of megabyteme gheys ,Amber Heard is a lesbian and I would say that is a terrible waste if I had the slightest ,merest,tiniest chance of ever getting in her pants if she were straight.Anyway she came out only recently so I'm assuming it's all Nicholas Cage's fault.

Considering the amount of time I've spent on this site a psychiatrist would tell you that's probably impossible.

Also I think "lesbian enough " is nonsensical as ghey like dead is an absolute. You either are or you aren't.

If you thought Van Wilder was "amazing" I seriously suggest you avoid seeing anything actually good .After doing the math it has been found that there is a 97% probability that your head will actually explode.

The last movie I saw was "Season of the witch" with Nicholas Cage. It was entertaining. It's really an underrated movie.

If you substitute "unwatchable" for "underrated" we are in perfect agreement.

Last couple of moviefilms that I watched where Fighting with that guy that oddly doesn't seem to have a first name ,Channing Tatum and Charlie St. Cloud with Zac Efron so apparently I'm into my dreamboat phase .
I'd actually seen Fighting before and hadn't thought too much of it but the second time around I liked it a lot better probably because I wasn't paying so much attention to the story and could appreciate what Terrence Howard was doing more.
Sort of a Midnight Cowboy(ish) but instead of hustling and drugs they substituted MMA and a painfully obvious plotline.

On the other hand Charlie St. Cloud is the kind of sentimental pap that I strangely enjoy and Efron as proven by movies like Orson and Me isn't a bad actor but three quarters of the way of through the thing starts getting overly religious and what was formerly a enjoyable waste of time becomes annoying . To me it seemed that the writers came up with the characters first and in the end couldn't find a way to hang an entire movie around them.
Basically I'm say avoid this one unless you think Season of the Witch was underrated.

As someone who once considered a career in prostitution, I take offense to your claim that prostitutes aren't "normal".
Many of my best friends have been in the "game" and we frequently gather at Sbarro to relive the good...and yes, NORMAL...times we had.
The nice businessman who escorted me to Senior Prom later became a close acquaintance and even attended my Confirmation (I gave him a discount that day!).

Prostitutes are fine when you have the spare $5 (usually around Christmas in my case...) but free nookie is obviously the optimal outcome.
