maebach - that is such a cluttered desktop! why so many icons? the wallpaper is shite too... can hardly see some icons, you must get confused, because i certainly would.
check out digtialblasphemy and visual paradox for better wallpapers and seriously make your icons have transparency in the name field. looks so windows 95!
Deviant Art has the best wallpapers, imo.
I thought of what you said, I'm looking for new wallpapers and visual styles. And I will remove Icons. I'm thinking of going black box again, whatta think>? :ph34r:Quote:

Sort your desktop out more neatly. Organise your icons into groups and instead of saving any downloads from the web onto your desktop create a folder for that as well. For example...

As you can see my whole desktop is sorted out my HDD's / Rom's, Media, Security & Maintenance, P2P, Gaming.
I also have a folder titled 'Samurai'. Inside I have several other folders where I keep my most important data... Documents, Drivers, Patches, Program Files, Wallpaper, Windows XP Themes etc...
Again there may be more sub-folders inside these to clear it up further.
In any case I prefer to ensure it's as neat as possible. There are a few people who prefer nothing on the desktop but I'm not one of them.
There are also programs about to put "Widgets" on your desktop thus not needing folders, such as DesktopX
Loads of possibilities for you ;)
All good suggestions Samurai. :)
Another thing you can do to organize is alphabetize your start menu and add something like I have, a 'Rarely Used Programs' folder.
