Without a doubt.

I use VLC for all my media files. I have not found any video files that it did play. Can't say that with the other media players.

Absolutely the best. Plays most codecs. I havent found one it doesnt play

Agreed. It supports pretty much any modern codec. The videolan guys also make available a H.265 encoder so that you can encode your own 4k sources efficient for the web. Really cool
