"Got to keep the loonies on the path... " --Pink Floyd - Brain Damage (Dark Side Of The Moon)
Watched the first 20 minutes of 6 Underground. Had to turn it off. Michael Bay at his absolutely most intrusively annoying. Every other shot seemed to either be in slow motion or an extreme close-up.
Not exaggerating, might have been the worst thing I've ever seen.
Family Guy did a parody of Michael Bay a few years ago that was less a parody of bad Michael Bay than 6 Underground is.
It's almost like Bay made a bet with someone on how awful a movie he could make and still have spineless studio executives release it.
According to the Toronto Sun....but then again it's a very low bar.Quote:

I'm not an electrical engineer or anything but if you're using cable to connect to cable, one of them has got to be redundant.
I think you can test by sticking your finger in a live socket. Do that and then get back to me.
Actually... having read shay's and your posts on "6 Underground" I may have made it to about 10 minutes. (Wife now believes you guys are great reviewers that I just made up.)
Instead we viewed the film "The Other Guys" (no pun intended), which I had buried on a hard drive for situations such as this. :shifty: (Film directed by Adam McKay and has an ending similar, but more fluid to the M. Bay atrocity!)
By saving our movie Sunday... she "allowed" me to watch "The Nigh Before", probably a dopers analogy or lest we say... a loosely cobbled version of "A Christmas Carol" I had never seen or will never see again.
(Probably made after indulging in many 'spliffs) :alien:
I called my buddy from Rogers Cable and he said that is the retarded way of saying using a coax cable to connect to a cable receiver box:)
I mentioned some background on you buddy, and he said a guy like you with a small penis can try to put his pee pee in the cable outlet from the wall and assured me you will not get any shock, but may get some satisfaction :idunno:...Quote:

What i think Meg was actually saying is he doesn't pay or support any local cable/satellite services, but does subscribe to online/streaming services;)......
I do, way worse than Hobbs & Shaw, but that doesn't help the bar on either....
At least i thought it was stupid funny humor, with action, definitely a better choice than 6 Underground Stehle:)
Honestly, I'd be a little disappointed if you got a joke based around something other than fart noises anyway.
If you watch enough movies and you aren't Shay then certain patterns begin to reveal themselves. Like any serious movie starring Brad Pitt is going to be overly violent or every movie starring Jason Statham will be stupider than the one that preceded it.
I recently watched this!

The belly flop sort of qualifies as an explosion.

Yer welcome.
I feel fulfilled now. Thank you! :ermm:
"Joker"
(DC® Comics fans should figure this one out.) :alien:
How to Prepare For Prison
Uncut Gems
Have to say, my expectations were somewhat high after watching that 60 Minutes report on Adam Sandler last week. Honestly not sure how I feel about that movie after having watched it.
Unexpected ending.
The last TV show I watched was Fleabag and I think it's brilliant, not sure if there's going to be a third season but I hope so. Anyway, any opinions on the last Star Wars movie?
The Witcher is pretty mind boggling in it's level of badness. ie think The Last Witch Hunter level of terrible with added expectations of it being better.
Geez. All they had to do was mimic the books, cast it decently and direct it above grade school level plus throw in a unnecessary sex scenes and they would have been golden.
Also worst cgi since they stopped using toy rocket ships on strings.
I haven't watched the last three so my opinion is that I don't give a shit.
"Knives Out" ...shades of Agatha Christie and Clue! :)
(She loved it! Now she wants to see it again in 1080p!) :alien:
[Happy New Year!!!] :D

BBC three part Dracula(2020) is so good that there's no way America could have made it.
Sunday afternoon cinema fare...
"Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" (Wishes perhaps the boys were 35 years younger.) :alien:
"Frozen II" (Wishes perhaps he could speak with Maleficent and change the boys to girls for a couple hours and make them 35 years younger.) :alien:

205 lbs.: Eryk Anders vs. Gerald Meerschaert
Finally getting into the last season of "The Peaky Blinders", halfway through watching the weird Yoda short series with the other half (Obviously not a Star Wars fan here).
Watched "1917" last night. Good movie, cinematography is very well done. I liked the gradual change of scenery in the first 7 minutes, and the "coming full circle" at the end.
Not as violent as I had thought.
Just watched Once Upon a time in Hollywood...am i the only one that thought it was terrible? Spent the whole time trying to figure out where they were going with it. My wife fell asleep to it.
I thought it was pretty clear where they were going with it. At least until the end. Surprise twist that they did not go there.
Not a great movie, but not a bad one, either.
The Outsider... Excellent start to the series, Jason Bateman and Ben Mendelshon on good form, story is gripping and dark. Hope the quality continues.
Finally got to watch "Doctor Sleep" ...or at least half of it ...doctors say small doses of TV. :frusty:
(Not quite SK's novel, but close.) :alien:
EDIT: Saw second half... not bad. (Way better than "Dark Tower" which was trash.) I heard someone mention another "The Stand" production in the future... we'll see. ;)
Mythic Quest, its soooo awesome and soooo funny!!!!!
Not holding out a lot of hope considering the density of the source novel and that the series is only going to be 10 episodes (prefer the extended version of the novel and that would take a lot of condensing) and that it's going to be on CBS All Access.
On the actor side, Alexander Skarsgard has to be better than Jamey Sheridan as Flagg although I don't think Marsden is anywhere near a good fit for Stu Redman as Gary Sinise and that is basically the heart of the story. Also a Whoopie Goldberg Mother Abagail can't be taken seriously by literally anyone.
Also see that King himself has written a new ending which hopefully will only involve the epilogue as the rest of it plays out practically perfect as it is.
Are you watching The Outsider? It's pretty well done but then the story from the novel is pretty thin and if anything the series is padding it out.
"The Outsider"* is a Yes! :) , but waiting for season end since second episode. :yup:
The newer version of Holly Gibney has a lot to live up to... I liked the one from Mr Mercedes. [Audience Channel Commercial Free]... Hope there is a 3rd season... as a homage of sorts to "The Bill Hodges Trilogy" (End Of Watch), even if the story line went off the rails the first season.
I agree with most of the your actor substitutes for "The Stand" (My favorite novel!!), but I too loved Gary Sinise... as I stated before... we'll see. :)
*Hopefully just #7 episodes 1 downloaded tonight (Thank you Very much!) .. only 3 left to go for season 1?... Then binge tine!!!! :D
