I paid £3 for uTorrent Pro because the ads were annoying :emo: Material Files only has 1k downloads on the Play store, I'll assume it's Chinese spyware and give it ago anyway :smilie4:

Re: Last one to post wins the internets
Does anyone know the smartest way to copy 30TB to a NAS spread across about 10 externals and possibly full of dupes?
My life is a mess.

You were fleeced, all Android torrent clients are basically libtorrent with a custom interface :noes:

It's only one of those things :mushy: I have had zero issues with it, and apparently it's more robust than regular file managers since it uses system calls. Then again, your setup is pretty non-standard for an Android phone (external NVMe with USB-C adapter :ghey:), so who knows where the problem could actually lie.

If the NAS supports Samba, I would use Robocopy. You'll likely want to deal with the duplicates first, though. That's not a task I have had to do often, let alone in this scale, but AllDup has given me good results in the past. For images, use AntiDupl.NET: it finds duplicates based on the actual contents instead of file hashes.

I got a better idea, just reformat all the drives and don't worry about it:lol:. Even with this stay at home thing, there is not enough time to watch everything on them anyways:idunno:.
I literally just keep deleting shit!!!, and oh shit the duplicates i had/kept!!, it was just ridiculous iLOVENZB....
The truth i don't download direct to my server, i use another PC and transfer everything with a USB patch cord...
And thinking it would be great if you had extra/spare bays in the NAS buddy, then i would just bust open all the external drives and slot them in to move the shit around...
Again really i am trying to find the patience to just got through all the shit and getting rid of it, and if it was old and i like the show or movie i am trying to find better version/rips....
Really i should say good luck:)

Dear goodness, this is getting laborious. Connecting by SMB, I'm getting 5.1MB/s speeds from TeraCopy. USB Copy on Synology is by far the most dismal service I've ever seen. No progress? No logs? No ETA? Nothing.
Do you prefer Robocopy over TeraCopy?
Just counted the externals. There's 12 of the fuckers (1TB-4TB's). Might just copy everything to the pool and sift through the dupes all at once. I would have to hashcheck them all. In the past I've backed up the ~incomplete dir and finished it later. So there might be a few incompletes as completes. Doesn't help in the early days I've never appended .part for incomplete downloads.
---
Todo.list
Number external HDD's
Copy externals to numbered DIR on DS918
Hash check dupe DS918 pool

Are you my shadow now? I was going to do all this in 2014. Back then my pipe was 512/512. Since then, 6 years later, I've been on 24Mbps (cheapest). Pipe has been chooching 24/7. It's a mess

2014:lol:... I can't even think back that far buddy LOL!!...
But i am now thinking not long ago i got rid of thousands and i mean thousands of burnt CD's/DVD's/Dual Layer disks!!.. And funny i couldn't find any takers for all the soft cases they were in. Even the thoughts now when you had to use 2 cd's for a complete movie and how many i reburned because i couldn't remember where the fuck i put the dam thing:stars:...
How long ago was that and i just recently got rid of that shit!!!..
What i had a least 5 boxes of VHS movies/shows!!, I got so excited i looked on Ebay and saw some of those Disney movies were worth $20.000.00!!, then i took a second look and it is the same guy posting them for the last 15 years, with zero offers LOL!!!!. Not sure if you had them?? The ones that wont even fit in a drawer to hide away!!!!..
Attachment 184525
Yup i got a variety of those still sealed in plastic!!!!...Now i have to find a VHS player:unsure:
How about 400 burnt wii games?? or how many cases of Xbox/Xbox360 games?? and organizing plastic guitars, and drum kits???

Absolutely, it was basically designed for this scenario. But it's a fairly complex tool, so here's some advice to make sure you don't fuck up before you get acquainted with it.
- /MIR will delete files that are in the destination but not the source. Handle with care.
- /L will show everything your command line would do without touching anything. Use it to make sure you got everything right before proceeding. (Can and probably should be combined with /LOG and /TEE)
- Unicode logging is broken; it writes the job header as UTF-16 but everything else as ANSI. If you have lots of filenames that use foreign scripts this may be a problem.
- File and folder names containing spaces must be enclosed in quotation marks, but very careful not to accidentally type two in a row - e.g. ""Some Files" - as that will discard the remaining command line parameters.
Low SMB throughput may be fixed by disabling encryption in Samba. FTP is another option, I suppose.
As for the duplicates, you only need to hash files with exactly identical sizes, kill the ones with matching hashes, and review the rest. That should deal with most of them. Unless "duplicates" here refers to multiple releases of the same movie/album/whatever in different qualities, in which case I can't think of anything.

Question Anon... Is Robocopy and TeraCopy a type of FTP program to move files over a network??
And i am assuming you can't connect a USB Ext. Drive direct to a NAS?? Again if you don't even have space to put another drive in your NAS?? Can you not pull one out and bust open the EXT. Drive and slot it in and tell it to copy??
As i mentioned i bought this cable to move all my stuff to my mock server (converted PC), and it is not the fastest i guess, but i do assume it is better/faster than doing it over a network:unsure:...
https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
The truth why i do that, i download a ton of stuff having unlimited everything, and i skim through it to see if i will ever be interested, then i would move it, if not, i just delete it.. I think that makes sense:idunno:..The same i have at least 6 sata connections on my Mother Board, and i wont buy a drive bigger than 4TB's. Just the thought of losing a drive bigger because of failure will really piss me off!!!...And really if i needed more than that?? I feel i may have some hoarding issues:whistling
And really if you do want something in the future, say a movie that someone recommends?? I don't ever think i have found a problem getting it, the same with HBO shit, truthfully i have been using the same Usenet provider for a while and it has been really good that way.
The same with the NZB sites i belong to when it comes to indexing and not having dead NZB links...
And you know i have been trying to get rid of shit:)
Just saying;)
Edit: I can say i am seeing a big comeback on AVI format, all the new shows and movies are still being uploaded that way..

Seems simplet enough. Pushing data through 3 OS atm (DSM, WIN10, OSX). Mac is pointless. Countless errors. The USB Copy seems too fast. 1.82TB in a couple hours? When comparing DIRS they're way out.
Properties of Backup from USB Copy
From SAMBA (WIN10)
\\***\Name\USB1\USB Copy_2020-05-10_091156
23.7 GB [467 Files, 66 Folders]
From SAMBA (OSX)
afp://***.local/Name/USB1/USB Copy_2020-05-10_091156
Calculating Size, [good effort OSX. You tried]
From DSM
/volume1/Name/USB1/USB Copy_2020-05-10_091156
1.82 TB [53781 Files, 10147 Folders]
From DSM mounted HDD
/volumeUSB2/usbshare
1.82 TB [53786 Files, 10151 Folders]
Using DSM; Difference between source and destination is 5 Files, 4 Folders. :creis:

I laugh that you make that comment and yet when you really look how false that statement is:lol:. Even worse if you have kids!!!. It is amazing what ends up in a drawer/cabinet or the basement/storage area and you just forget about it!!!..
It is funny iLOVENZB that a lot of people out there think old random shit is cash, i can tell you if you want to sell something for $100.00 they offer you $5:lol:, it has come to the point that leaving shit at the side of the curb and seeing people in brand new Mercedes stopping and loading it in there trunks or hatches gives me more pleasure that my garbage gives them joy:)..
Truth i just don't have the patience to get 50 texts/emails and have to reply to what they offer....
Even more amazing is you don't really know how much crap you have until you have the drive/motivation to go through it and clean it up, now you really have to have the drive to keep going to the end, if you know what i mean...
Now to your issue... I can tell you i have gone through transferring stuff from drives, the pain in the ass i had was if there was a file or something with an error it would just stop transferring until i clicked on the "OK" to skip!!!!. So my next drive i wanted to go through i really did just skim through it and if i didn't see anything that really i needed or say wanted i just deleted the whole fucking drive and said the heck with it!!!!. Again if i did want something again i just re-download it, but that happened rarely. And yes the disks were at one time organized and done either by alphabet or genre with printed lists and each case numbered or lettered for ease to find, now how the fuck long do you think that lasted LOL!!!!...How many carousels of Verbatim disks as well stacked all over the place!!.. Now that space has spare drives or just random crap to take over it's place:stars:...
Like i said how long it takes to transfer shit, really doing a quick skim i guarantee thinking moving it to a permanent place, it will still never see a tv or PC screen to view:lol: ..
Again I will never say to anyone what they think is cherished to them but really from experience now i can tell you personally Women have purses and shoes and we have so much more shit to go through!!!...
Again patience and i wish you good luck buddy:).....

Your Dad was a very smart wise man buddy:), my point being i never like to turn down a buck, but if there is too much aggravation to make it, it becomes a loss of interests to me. I ask everyone if they want it, and if the answer is no, it goes to the end of my driveway, and some lucky person in a fancy car/sport utility can load it up, and save me a trip to the Dump.. There was a suggestion to actually have a garage sale, but really i would be the first one on my street that ever had one, really not something i want to be the first:). And i would have to hire Idol so i don't end up in jail after someone tries to haggle on the fair pricing i marked everything already, and they may end up with a Tie Domi hockey stick across the head....

Truth be said, you should really stay away from left wing sites, it is bleaching what few brain cells you do have left:)

Yeah... truff! Back in '87 I was flying from Tampa to Dallas to play solicitor and close on some properties for one of me close mates... so the flight is was a wee long and I hit the T&T's
pretty hard, (it was a red eye flight after all!)... dozed off for a bit... needed something to do when I woke, so I grabbed one of those "In Flight" magazines from the bin in front of me. I
opened it randomly to a life insurance ad and the heading said, "Are You Covered?"... being bit groggy I squinted me eyes and saw all the beautiful people on a plane in the ad surrounded and
engulfed by... flames trying to get out of their seats and escape the flames! I did the squinty bit 3 more times with same result. :ermm:
I heard about drive-in theaters splicing cups of coca-cola and boxes of popcorn into the films very quickly to increase sales at the snack bar, but that was my first experience with it in a
static ad ...and ad on a plane no less!
ALL and in many forms I believe they call it... "Subliminal Advertising"... I thought it became illegal. :sadwalk:

Meant to ask this already a few days ago... I was reading about a Super Mario 64 port to the PC which naturally already got squashed by Nintendo.
Does anyone happen to have a link to a source where one might still acquire said software? Purely for evaluating purposes, of course.
Of course.
