I've had both but quit ScT because I could hardly seed back and the torrents die too quickly. TL is definitely better.

you need an invite for most of these sites, no open signups. TL had open signups occasionally, but recently they closed invites entirely, and you can only get in by paying for a VIP account by going to their irc (I don't recommend this, never pay for an account anywhere, shame on you TL!)
