I reckon it does, particularly in the hyper-reality boom that has been created by the telecommunication/interweb/global community era that we are all experiencing.

Look at the word 'text' for instance. To me it used to mean a piece of writing. e.g. 'my lecture gave me a text to read for next weeks seminar'. Now it's definition has expanded to the point where if I said 'my lecturer gave me a text' you might think I was indulging in some kind of shady fone-secks with someone who is clearly abusing his position.............. am I getting carried away with this :unsure:
